LEGO IDEAS – “NF-15B RESEARCH AIRCRAFT” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO IDEAS – “NF-15B RESEARCH AIRCRAFT” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

I have to be honest and start off with saying I’m not getting very excited by the current bunch of LEGO Ideas that have hit 10,000 supporters so far. 3 months into the second 2017 review panel and we only have three LEGO Ideas through – feels like watching paint dry! To be fair the designers have done a good job maybe I’m just sleep deprived after a late LEGO build night with PLUG and rough day at work. Anyway time…

LEGO IDEAS – “JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO IDEAS – “JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

Another week and another LEGO Idea hits 10,000 supporters. This time round buckle up it’s another iconic vehicle the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that has made the mix and wants to join the LEGO legends such as the VW Kombi, Beetle, BMW mini, Caterham Super Seven and of course the LEGO Ideas future hopeful Land Rover 4 x 4. The creator CK80 wanted to put forward a design based on the same size ratio as other official LEGO sets, but capturing the Jeep…

LEGO IDEAS – “VENETIAN HOUSES” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO IDEAS – “VENETIAN HOUSES” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

The first 2017 review panel for LEGO Ideas is definitely a varied bunch so far and I don’t envy the LEGO teams task to pick a winner/winners. This time round we are lazily enjoying a gondola ride around quintessential Venetian houses (thankfully minus the lovely smell and tourists). The project the titled “Venetian Houses” is a massive double modular design utilising a hefty 4,500 bricks. The creator McMarco took his inspiration from his love of Venice and its architecture. By basing…

LEGO IDEAS – “RED ARROW HAWK” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO IDEAS – “RED ARROW HAWK” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO Ideas is really firing at the moment with the fourth idea hitting the magical 10,000 supporters mark and will now head into the second 2016/2017 review panel. This idea was another one that raced through the support ranks achieving 10,000 supporters in 5 weeks. Amazing what a good dose of social media can do! Irrespective of that it is actually a sweet little idea. Titled “Red Arrow Hawk” the idea is based around the famous Red Arrows plane that are…

LEGO CHRISTMAS 2017 ADVENT CALENDARS

LEGO CHRISTMAS 2017 ADVENT CALENDARS

New York Toy Fair has dumped so much news that it’s hard to keep up. However, for those that are struggling to deal with christmas being over (or celebrating) there was some good news with early images of 2017’s Christmas Advent Calendar line up. There was no new themes and LEGO has adopted the tried and tested trio again for 2017 (City/Star Wars/Friends). A bit of history – LEGO has been releasing advent calendars on/off since 1998 (recent years annually) and have…

LEGO TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

LEGO TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

So sitting here with a belly full of cold leftover Christmas Turkey, kids in bed and wondering what to do with myself? I contemplated building and reviewing some LEGO sets, but all built out helping the kids with their Christmas haul of LEGO. So did what most people do and hit the internet aimlessly browsing and stumbled across a cool little YouTube video from Toyrewind highlighting some LEGO commercials from 1955-1990. The commercial highlights some absolute little gems and I’ve…

LEGO IDEAS – “1950’s DINER” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO IDEAS – “1950’s DINER” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

Another day another LEGO Idea hits 10,000 supporters. This time round it’s time to travel back to 1950’s America and boy this idea does just that! “1950’s Diner” is the ninth project to hit the magical 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas and make it through to the 1st 2017 review panel. For those who don’t know what or how this works refer to my previous blog on LEGO Ideas. The ideas creator pix027 has cleverly designed a classy retro 1950’s diner that is both playable…

LEGO IDEAS – “LAND ROVER 4 x 4” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

Finally one of my favorite LEGO Ideas has hit 10,000 supporters. Land Rover 4 x 4 is the seventh project to hit the magical 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas and make it through to the 1st 2017 review panel. For those who don’t know what or how this works refer to my previous blog on LEGO Ideas. The project has been designed by Dadandlad and is based on the iconic Land Rover Series III. The model packs a punch when it comes to real life like details…

REVIEW – LEGO Creator Fountain 40221

REVIEW – LEGO Creator Fountain 40221

As promised in my previous LEGO online shop promotional newsflash, I finally got my hands on the LEGO Creator Water Fountain (40221) and decided to knock up a review. The logic behind the set was to create a park scene in conjunction with my purchase of LEGO City Fun in the Park (60134). By all accounts the offer must have been popular, as the promotion ended just under half way into the qualifying period (to the dismay of one of my work…

NEW BEGINNINGS

NEW BEGINNINGS

I’ll keep this brief, but today marks the start of my journey as a blogger. I decided to stand above the crowd and blog around my love of all things Lego. I don’t know where the journey will take me (other than owning more Lego and driving my poor wife nuts!), but hopefully it will prove to be informative, fun and maybe a little bit humorous to anyone crazy enough to read my blogs. Signing off, Russell from All About The…
