Overnight LEGO finally announced the new LEGO Creator Expert (umm not sure about the Expert name tag) Seasonal Christmas set. The great news is LEGO have decided to follow up on last year’s winter train outing with a cute little winter village train station – LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Station 10259.

The set captures an Alpin looking village train station with ticket booth, essential coffee shop, clock tower and a cool little vintage bus. As a bonus we also get some extra straight train track and level crossing.

LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Station 10259 will be released 1st October 2017 (Early LEGO VIP access from the 14th September 2017). The set includes 902 pieces, 5 x minifigures and will retail at AUD $119.99 / USD $79.99 / GBP £74.99.

Looking at the chatter on social media overnight It looks like there are a lot of comments on its size and detail. While I agree the “Expert” tag is being used a little too liberally with some sets (this one included), I do think the set is quaint and in keeping with the seasonal Christmas village theme and character. We also have to remember the price point and that these sets are aimed at the broadest possible market and size and price point ensures more families can enjoy this theme each year. I’m sure we would all grumble and cry poor if the sets were modular size and cost!

This set joins the so far announced promotional Christmas sets (40262 & 40263) and the regular LEGO Advent Calendars (City, Friends & Star Wars) line up for 2017!

As always keen to hear everyone’s thoughts on this set?

Happy Building!

  1. When winter comes, will Lego get these “LEGO WINTERS” from different cities? , I would like to see something of Panama in LEGO

    1. Hi Emmanuel – nice idea. Likely the Adult MOC (my own creation) community will build something? We see a lot at the LEGO shows in Australia amazing some of the ideas that people have and build!
