As I’ve mentioned before I normally blog on LEGO Ideas that hit the magically 10,000 supporters mark, so everyone can see what Ideas sets could be hitting our shelves soon. However, every now and then an idea appears that really captures my attention and I think warrants showing to the masses to help get it over the line.
Today one of my loyal followers highlighted a cool little LEGO model of a Land Rover Series III over on LEGO Ideas. It seemed fitting after the news yesterday that Land Rover had built a record breaking Model of London Tower Bridge (info here) that we keep with the LEGO and Land Rover theme this week!
The LEGO Idea is titled “Landrover 4 x 4” and is the creation of Dadandlad. What I like is it’s instantly recognisable as the iconic Land Rover Series III and unlike the boring display pieces (Diecast models) this model is both display and play!
The model comprises of approximately 1,100 bricks, measures 27cm length, 13cm height and 13cm width.
Not only has the model captured the iconic shape, but the detail and finish is great and I especially love the engine bay (revealed by removing the front grill/radiator).
The design has so far attracted 7,333 supporters and with your help let’s get it to the magical 10,000 mark and give it the best chance possible to hit our shelves. I have to admit I’m partial to the car model range having the VW Kombi and Beetle and would love to add this champ to the collection!
Remember to show your support (Landrover 4 x 4) and all those other aspiring LEGO builders out there on LEGO Ideas that tickle your fancy.
