As mentioned a few weeks ago we’ve entered a surge where amateur LEGO designs are hitting 10,000 supporters on almost a weekly basis!
The eleventh LEGO Ideas design for the second 2016 review has just hit the magical 10,000 supporters threshold. For those who don’t know what or how this works refer to my previous blog on LEGO Ideas.
The LEGO Idea is titled “Lovelace & Babbage” and is the creation of stubot. The project title may be alien to some (I’m happy to admit I was non the wiser), but those in the know will realise it captures the essence in LEGO form of the first mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine. It’s an interesting concept and the design has been put forward in a monochromatic colour pallet to evoke the Victorian era.
Lovelace & Babbage joins pride and place with Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Addams Family Mansion, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, Observatory – Mountain View, Modular Construction Site, Women of NASA, Star Wars UCS X34 Landspeeder and Lamborghini Veneno Roadster in the second 2016 review panel.
Remember to support all those aspiring LEGO builders out there on LEGO Ideas.
