Looks like the success of the LEGO Ideas Saturn V Rocket (21309) is spawning lots of related LEGO Ideas projects. After seeing the recent NASA Space Shuttle (Saturn V Scale) hit 10,000 supporters, next off the rank is a LEGO Idea directly related to the Saturn V Rocket – Nasa Saturn-V Launch Umbilical Tower.
Nasa Saturn-V Launch Umbilical Tower is the brainchild of Valerie Roche (Whatsuptoday) and Emmanuel Urquieta (Spacemd) who worked collaboratively to design the NASA Saturn-V Launch Umbilical Tower at 1/110 scale to complement LEGO Ideas Saturn V Rocket (21309).
The tower contains a total of 2,998 LEGO elements and has the following dimensions:
Overall height of the set: 143 studs = 1.14 meters = 3,75 feet = 45,03 inches
Platform length: 56 studs = 0.448 meters = 1.46 feet = 17.63 inches
Platform width: 46 studs = 0.368 meters = 1.20 feet = 14.49 inches
As I’ve mentioned before not a big fan of rendered images and would much prefer to see this model in real life. Not a model for me, but understand there will be a lot of fans out there.
“Nasa Saturn-V Launch Umbilical Tower” joins “NASA Space Shuttle (Saturn V Scale)”, “I Am Your Father”, “NF-15B Research Aircraft”, “The wonders of Peru” and “Gilmore Girls” and is the Sixth LEGO Idea to make the second 2017 review panel. If you want to know what Ideas made the first 2017 review panel refer to my last LEGO Ideas blog (last paragraph) for the list.
