LEGO IDEAS – “NF-15B RESEARCH AIRCRAFT” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

LEGO IDEAS – “NF-15B RESEARCH AIRCRAFT” HITS 10,000 SUPPORTERS

I have to be honest and start off with saying I’m not getting very excited by the current bunch of LEGO Ideas that have hit 10,000 supporters so far. 3 months into the second 2017 review panel and we only have three LEGO Ideas through – feels like watching paint dry! To be fair the designers have done a good job maybe I’m just sleep deprived after a late LEGO build night with PLUG and rough day at work. Anyway time to highlight our third LEGO Idea “NF-15B Research Aircraft” hitting 10,000 supporters.

The concept is based around an experimental F15 loaned to NASA as a test bed for new technologies until 2009. The creator “Mammalucco” has created a beast of a model weighing in at a whooping 5,000 elements (likely to fall foul of LEGO Ideas new element count guidelines).

I have to say one thing the creator has created a great colour and shape representation of the real plane. Though I’m sure it wasn’t intentional by using used bricks the appearance of slightly discolored white bricks has added a great aged look to the now retired plane.

NF-15B Research Aircraft” joins “The wonders of Peru” and “Gilmore Girls” and is the third LEGO Idea to make the second 2017 review panel. If you want to know what Ideas made the first 2017 review panel refer to my last LEGO Ideas blog (last paragraph) for the list.

Remember to support all those aspiring LEGO builders out there on LEGO Ideas.

Happy Building!
