LEGO MODULAR CREATOR – ASSEMBLY SQUARE 10255 OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

LEGO MODULAR CREATOR – ASSEMBLY SQUARE 10255 OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

It’s in, it’s beautiful and I’m getting one come the 1st January 2016! Over night for us down in Australia LEGO finally officially launched the new LEGO Modular Creator Assembly Square (10255) and it’s massive at 4,002 pieces, marking this the largest Modular so far in the series and a fitting 10 year anniversary set.

The set includes 4,002 pieces, 8 x minifigures and will retail at USD 279.99 / GBP 169.99. No news on AUD price yet, but hazard a guess at $360-400 range. Rather than adopt the earlier modular sizes in height LEGO has increased the footprint by an additional 16 x 32 stud creating a little european style alleyway by the cafe.

LEGO has gone all out with this set and thrown in a varied and exciting mix of 8 x minifigures. Starting from the top left we have a dentist (seriously a dentist – love it), musician, ballerina, cake shop assistant, patisserie chef, photographer, customer and mother and child (LEGO baby no. 3 for 2016). And to cap off a cool little printed tile depicting LEGO Cafe Corner paying homage to what started it all off 10 years ago.

LEGO has crammed so much detail into the 10 year celebration set, that it would take me all day to describe and still wouldn’t do it justice. All I can say is if you look carefully the clever design team have managed to incorporate references to all previous modular sets before it.

Anyway that caps off this quick post. I’ve tried to save some detail for what will be an exciting review when I get my hands on this in the new year.

As always feel free to post any comments keen to hear everyone’s thoughts on this one.

Happy Building!

  1. Not sure if its just my browser but this set no longer seems to be available on the Aussie Lego website? Was there and now its not?

    1. Hi David, not you seems to be some issues with LEGO online site. They had sets listed as coming soon (it’s released 1st Jan). Now they have been removed completely
