NEWS ROUNDUP – NEW LEGO BRICKHEADZ, RETIRING LEGO SETS, JURASSIC WORLD LEGO 2018, BRICKTOBER-PERTH, DOUBLE VIP POINTS AND MORE

Very quickly sorry for the biggest gap in my blogging journey so far! It really has been a crazy and scary 4 weeks. It all started with a bout of man flu (seems quite superficial now!), then came Bricktober-Perth (was awesome), finally my son was rushed into hospital in an ambulance with a post tonsil removal hemorrhage. That final point has shaken me to the core, but thank god the little fella is back home after a 4 day stint in hospital!

Anyway enough of my personal life – I’ve decided to ease back into LEGO blogging routine with a weekly news roundup.  Let’s have a look at what has been swirling around in the news and social media:

  • Thanks to Jedinewsuk we had our first confirmation that LEGO Brickheadz will be returning in 2018. Picture was taken during New York Comic Con and reveals that the Brickheadz will be expanded with 12 new Brickheadz covering Justice League, Star Wars and Avengers Infinity League. Seems that the LEGO Brickheadz range is here to stay!

But New York Comic Con wouldn’t be right without a dose of exclusive LEGO giveaways and this year they have thrown in an exclusive LEGO Star Wars Brickheadz set. LEGO Brickheadz Boba Fett and Han Solo (Carbonite) 41498.

For those like me unlikely enough not to grab the exclusive Brickheadz – Lazer310 on Reddit has provided the instructructions, however before you get to excited you will need to replace some LEGO elements with alternatives.

Lastly following all the Comic Con hype LEGO has finally released the first initial images of two LEGO Star Wars Brickheadz. Finn (41485) and Captain Phasma (41486) will be released 1st November.

  • Warning it’s that time of the year again and LEGO will be retiring sets soon. The headline set due for retire is the LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232), so if you’re a fan of the modular series I recommend grabbing the set before prices start to escalate on reseller sites.

  • Now one for my son – It has been confirmed that LEGO will return to the Jurassic World franchise and will be releasing sets to mark the release of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom June 2018. Look out for the sets in April next year. Looks like the LEGO dinosaur family will be expanding soon!

  • Bricktober-Perth 2017 has finally come and gone and it was a cracking success. Year on year the show has grown in size and is the premier LEGO show in Perth, Western Australia. This year was special for me as it marked my jump from volunteer to exhibitor and I loved every moment of it! Thanks to the Kendalls and Rotary club who are the driving force behind the show. Stay tuned as I will be posting a dedicated blog on the show, but below is my entries.
  • A little late in the piece but LEGO Shop has double VIP points on at the moment that ends at midnight tonight. If that wasn’t enough they are also offering a cool little VIP promotion with a LEGO VIP card (brick built) and a vignette section of a LEGO Store.

  • Finally Lester one of the most sort after Minifigures given away during the Leicester Square LEGO store grand opening back in 2016 has finally been released for general sale. The identical minifigure (40308) will be on sale in the store for £5.99.

Well that’s another wrap for a week now back to writing my Assembly Square and Bricktober-Perth reviews.

Happy Building!

  1. Sorry to hear about your son, I have a little 20 month old boy and they become your whole world so I can understand how worried you’ve been. Welcome back, I love the blog.
